Happy New Year to All!

Math homework tonight is to finish Chapter 5 Review in book on page 233 and 234. Each group may be in a different place so ask your child what he or she needs to finish. It should be written in their agendas.

Chapter 5 Math Test will be split into two parts this week.

On Thursday Section 5-1 to 5-4 the students will be tested on.
Least Common Multiple, Adding and Subtracting fractions with unlike denominators, Regrouping to Subtract Mixed Numbers, and Solving Fractions equations : Addition and Subtraction.

On Friday Sections 5-5 to 5-7 the students will be tested on.
Multiplying and dividing fractions and Solving Fraction Equations: Multiplying and Dividing.

SCIENCE:

PENCILS AND PENS
2 to 3 ONE SUBJECT NOTEBOOKS OR A THREE OR FOUR SUBJECT NOTEBOOK IF PREFERRED. WE USE OUR NOTEBOOKS EVERY DAY.

GLUE STICKS
COLORED PENCILS
YOUR OWN PAIR OF SCISSORS IF YOU WOULD LIKE. MY CLASSROOM SCISSORS ARE SOMETIMES TOO SMALL FOR YOUR GROWING HANDS. (TO BE USED FOR BOTH MATH AND SCIENCE CLASS)

MATH:

LOTS OF PENCILS (IT IS MATH) WITH ERASERS. NO MECHANICAL PENCILS PLEASE UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LEAD. I FIND THEY ARE A NUISANCE AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY LEAD TO GIVE OUT.

2 to 3 ONE SUBJECT NOTEBOOKS OR A THREE OR FOUR SUBJECT NOTEBOOK IF PREFERRED. WE USE OUR NOTEBOOKS EVERY DAY.

1 TWO POCKET FOLDER. IT WILL STAY IN THE CLASSROOM AND BE USED FOR MATH FOLDER ACTIVITIES SO YOU MAY WANT TO FIND A UNIQUE FOLDER THAT YOU CAN EASILY FIND.

GLUE STICKS, COLORED PENCILS, AND SCISSORS FOR BOTH MATH AND SCIENCE CLASS

DRY ERASE MARKERS FOR USE ON INDIVIDUAL WHITE BOARDS. I LOVE TO USE THESE AND SO DO THE STUDENTS.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT MANY OF THESE ITEMS WILL PROBABLY NEED TO BE REPLENISHED THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR.
